OUR EVOLUTION
WEvolve began as a project to build the conscience of students from a low budget school. The aim was to give them a sense of right and wrong while also realizing their potential and providing them with better exposure and opportunities to showcase their talents and explore their own selves.
However, the pandemic struck, causing widespread fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. Families lost their jobs and savings, making it difficult to pay for gadgets and internet access for online classes. Due to financial constraints, the students were stranded at home, unable to enrol in online programmes. The volunteers stepped in and began online teaching the students while also providing emotional support.
With the aid of volunteers, the students received online classes for two years (2020-2022). However, another challenge arose as the children's receptivity was affected by the financial issues, loss of loved ones, and other difficulties they were facing at home. The volunteers went one step further and became their friends, providing a safe space for the children to approach them with their difficulties.
WEvolve seeks to provide holistic development for children from under-resourced communities to create confident, judicious, and emotionally stable individuals. It is the right of every child, regardless of economic circumstances, to have access to such development opportunities. The journey of WEvolve highlights the importance of providing support and guidance to the children from under-resourced community.
Our mission is to empower school-going children aged 11 to 16 from the under-resourced community by providing a nurturing and inclusive environment that enhances their emotional and social development. We aim to cultivate self-awareness, self-confidence, and empathy through a range of opportunities, enabling them to become active and responsible members of their communities.
Our vision is to create a world where individuals are morally sound, emotionally stable, and empowered to make responsible decisions, where diversity is celebrated, and everyone is treated equally with respect, creating a peaceful and positive community.
